Moorabool Light Orchestra

A community orchestra based at Bacchus Marsh in Victoria

Mission of the orchestra

The prime purpose of the orchestra is "to provide a place for musicians of all ages from across the Moorabool Shire and Neighbouring Regions to connect, through all forms of orchestral music, by providing an educational and entertaining music program both for its members and its audiences"

Instrumentation covers Strings, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion.

The orchestra does NOT rehearse all year round, but re-groups for approx 4 – 6 weeks for rehearsal,(pending the repertoire) ahead of 3 major concerts a year (Autumn/Winter, Spring & Christmas/Summer).

The orchestra rehearses on a Tuesday evening (when preparing for a concert) from 7.30pm - 9.30pm at the Bacchus Marsh Baptist Church, 29 Holt's Lane Darley (Bacchus Marsh).

The orchestra currently has 55 musicians registered on its books and new members are always welcome.
