Our next concert is going to be on the 8th of Septemner 2024.

This will be at the Bacchus Marsh Public Hall at 2pm.

Gyula (Jules) Cseszko is back to conduct us for this concert.

Our Last Concert

Well are well on the way to preparing for our September concert. Put it in your diary for Sunday the 10th of September 2023.

Reuben Morgan has been invited back to conduct our concert.

Freya & Tom McGowan as well as Bayley Mackie will be the soloists.

Sarah Barlow was invited to conduct our concert in 2022 but due to circumstances beyond our control we needed to postpone this concert until 2023. 

Lachlan Mansell will be our  guitar soloist.

Declan Postlethwaite has written a work for the Moorabool Light Orchestra. This event will be the premiere of his work.

On the 3rd of December 2022 it was fantastic to be back playing in Underbank at the "Christmas in the Park" event. We had guest conductor Wade Carman direct us as we performed a big band/concert band selection of christmas songs.  

We also congratulated Michael Love for his time as President of the MLO of the past few years.

Its 2022 and we are well underway in preparing "Gypsy Dances" for our first concert on May 22nd. This will be again at the Bacchus Marsh Public Hall on Main Street. 

For this concert will have guest conductor Gyula (Jules) Cseszko and violin soloist Adel Kalnoki.

Tickets are $20 for Adults and free for 12 years and under. They are available online through see the link or at the Bacchus Marsh Florist in Main Street.

We are now in December of 2021 and had to cancel our Christmas concert over in Underbank. This was due to the timing of restrictions and being able to rehears the program. 

We are now starting to regroup and plan for 2022. The committee met a week or so ago now and are keen to get our players playing again in the new year. Currently we are in the process of booking a date for May and September in 2022.




Well after a year 0r so of waiting due to COVID we were finally able to have our concert in May 2021 under the direction of Reuben Morgan.

Currently we are planning for a concert in October on the 17th. Further details will be published when we know more about how the current restrictions unfold.



The final dress rehearsal happened last night and we are ready for an audience. Tickets are still available online, at the Bacchus Marsh Florist. Tickets will also be available at the door. It's been a very long wait for this event to happen so bring everyone along.

We will have QR or paper sign in on the day as well as disinfectant available for use. Further signage will be around the building reminding people of this.

General admission tickets cost $25 each. If due to COVID you need to return a ticket, please work with us so that we can resell the ticket to someone who is able to attend.

Update April 14th 2021

Rehearsals have now begun and we are registered as a COVID event. 

We will need to abide by the current regulations at the time of the concert in May. The details of the COVIDSafe registration can be found towards the bottom of this page. 


Update March 2021

At last we now planning for our first concert for 2021.

Put into your diary the 23rd of May at the Bacchus Marsh town hall.

Reuben Morgan has confirmed that he is available and the program preparation has started. 

Stay tuned for information about how to purchase tickets and how things run under the every developing COVID requirements.



Updated June 2020:

Due to the current COVID situation we feel we have no choice but to cancel the September concert. We have met with Reuben Morgan and he has confirmed that he is available and excited to conduct a concert in 2021.

GUEST CONDUCTOR - 2021

REUBEN MORGAN

Originally hailing from Ballarat, performing is in Reuben's blood. Throughout his formative years he received training in Violin, Classical Ballet, Classical Singing & Conducting.

His onstage credits include appearances in West Side Story, Cinderella, Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Mary Poppins, Spamalot & Much Ado About Nothing. Reuben has also played in and conducted over 25 theatrical productions.

Now based in Melbourne, Reuben currently works as a Violin & Cello teacher in secondary schools and is also an avid Conductor & Cabaret performer. He is currently serving as Artistic Director & Principal Conductor of the BallaRat Pack Orchestra, and was recently appointed Assistant Conductor of the West Melbourne Schools Orchestra.

In addition to playing violin & cello, Reuben also plays Piano, Viola, Clarinet & Guitar and is also a keen amateur orchestrator & arranger, skills which all came in handy when he wrote & staged his own musical in 2015.

Reuben is very excited to be conducting the Moorabool Light Orchestra in their first concert of 2020.
